Re: BCS Rankings.
[ QUOTE ]
I'm very happy to see Florida so high in this. It seems to me very possible they still contend for the national title. OSU over Michigan, Cal over USC, and WVU/Louisville both losing somethow.... Quite possible I'd say. UF runnign the table should actually rank them higher than an undefeated WVU or Louisville in my mind. Strength of schedule difference is nuts. [/ QUOTE ] I think it's >50% that USC loses at some point the way they've been playing the last three games. Either OSU or Michigan is pretty much guarenteed in the national championship. So Rutgers or Pitt is going to have to do something special to keep the WVU/UL winner out of the championship. |

Re: BCS Rankings.

[ QUOTE ] You don't have any idea how this actually works, do you? [/ QUOTE ] You don't have any idea how bad Michigan murdered ND, do you? I watched..it was sweet. And I watched Illinois outplay MSU from start to finish..the same MSU team that outplayed ND for 3 1/2 quarters. And based on that, and other factors, I can come to the conclusion that ND is not better than Cal or Tennessee. [/ QUOTE ] Here's the thing though, every team has games like that. Tenneesee was a 2 point conversion away from losing to Air Force at home, yet you're not harping on that. That same Tenneesee team killed Cal. I wouldn't be at all angry if Tenneesee and Cal were ranked higher than ND, but I don't think it's some great injustice that they're not. |

Re: BCS Rankings.
People either hate ND or they're idiots, so its not like arguments about their ranking will ever get anywhere. Its also not like it matters, since they're out of Nat'l Championship contention.

Re: BCS Rankings.
unless something catastrophic happens, winner of UM/OSU goes to national championship. Really sucks to figure out the second spot though, b/c a lot of deserving teams at the moment. Hopefully time will clear things up and shake out a clear number two...yeah, that probably won't happen, but it would make things easier

Re: BCS Rankings.
Tennessee also lost by one to Florida. They crushed Georgia. That Cal game was very, very impressive.
ND has one truly impressive win. They really did crush Penn State, a good team. I'll accept top 20 for ND. They're still overranked, by a lot. |

Re: BCS Rankings.
People just like to bitch about ND. They are ranked #8, so who freakin cares. Its not like they are #2.
btw, who else thinks USC shouldn't be #2. Given how they are playing lately, they don't deserve it imho. |

Re: BCS Rankings.
Georgia Tech at Georgia Tech is more impressive than beating Penn State. Penn State is, well, not so good. Also, Georgia is also not good, for proof, see Colorado.

Re: BCS Rankings.
ND did also beat GT, who is ranked 13. Cal, Florida, Tenn arguably are better than ND, but other than that calling them overranked by a lot is just out of hatred for them.

People just like to bitch about ND. They are ranked #8, so who freakin cares. [/ QUOTE ] Notre Dame gets an automatic BCS berth by finishing in the top 8. And because of their fan base, there's a chance they'll be taken ahead of higher ranked teams. PS, the computers don't take margin of victory into account. |
