Asking God to not let them ban online poker is like asking God to kill someone for you

Or like asking god to heal your sick child or asking him to make sure you have enough money for food or any other of the vain, silly and selfish things people pray for. But yes, I agree with you.

Or asking god to do anything really. He's presumably already decided it's for the best if it's happening.

And I'm thoroughly amused by how little time everyone here has for the original post.

Nothing silly and selfish about praying about it. It's praying for our community at large, not just for oneself.

BTW, the prayers are already beginning to work.

Maybe you guys shouldn't be so quick to mock this idea. Jesus was rumored to pull coins from the mouths of fish.

I'm not making fun of the poster himself, he seems like a good guy. But posting a thread which requests intercessionary prayer and precludes debate on SMP has had predictable results, even dealing with a subject we more or less unanimously agree on. And personally I think that critical response is a great thing, I'd be perplexed if the response was different.

Seti or Set seems appropiate here.

Ah, I suppose it's one of these times where praying won't do any damage to the issue.

Bingo's rather common for most churches up here also, and they condone a spot of gambling as long as they get a bit to fund their other purposes.

But the idea of a church taking up the battle on the Capitol would be entertaining.

Default Poker Prayer Update

Like Moses, who stood up against the Pharaoh, Full Tilt said they will stay on no matter what.
