Worst case you get a Swiss account and launder your own money.

[/ QUOTE ]

Open an acc't in Mexico, Canada, Bermuda, UK, Jamaica, etc. No laundering needed, just tie Neteller acc't to that one.

let's abandon the whole moneylaundering discussions, for a couple different reasons.

For one, no one's even sure that we're going to have any trouble using NeTeller at all.

Without rampant speculation, how do you create hysteria?

Here are my feelings on the matter: Some smaller shops are gonna close up (Hopefully SBR will get an easier workload of D and F rated books) and I wouldn't be happy with my funds there now. Same goes for shady casinos... But I wouldn't safe it was essentially safe to begin with. It's gonna be like 100 days before we really know anything about what the law entails. The only thing going on is what companies are going to impose on themselves and it seems that some major players are booting US players already. Poker seems like its gonna be rougher in a year or two.

But for the vast majority I'd say the next 9 months will be business as usual.

I'd also expect to see regulated online cardrooms operated by Harrahs or MGM or someone else very soon.

This is something I saw posted on FCP.

[ QUOTE ]
I can verify this. Foreign banks is a nice idea in theory, but some of the gaming websites are already starting to close access to US players, so foreign bank accounts will make no difference. The gaming sites look at your address and you are denied access. I just tried to open an account on Pacific Poker (I normally only play party and stars), and they denied my registration. Same with Mansion, and a few other small ones. I'll admit, I never would have expected these foreign gaming companies to capitulate to US political interests, frankly I'm appalled.

[/ QUOTE ]

I know it's nothing major and it probably doesn't mean much, but it's enough to make me a little uncomfortable. I was thinking about cashing out of Mansion today, and using Pinny exclusively for a while, possibly going to WSEX if Pinnacle decides to stop business with US customers.

Is this an unnecessary, reactionary measure, or do you think it's a good idea. FWIW, most of my serious betting comes from the early lines on Pinnacle, so they end up taking around 90% of my action anyway. With Mansion historically being difficult with cashouts, what I'm worried about is that large-scale withdrawals might make it so that my money gets trapped there for weeks on end, and getting it out would be a lot bigger hassle than if I just did it today.

Pretty much any information would be helpful at this point.

anyone feel like a withdrawal from SIA might be warranted soon?

also agree about mansion. this week i'm going to fax my id to them and withdraw. bowmans as well if i have hit my rollover. fortunately i have always stuck to top tier books, so i'm not particularly worried.

i am not trying to act hysterical, but i have worked hard to build a nest egg and i am not going to leave it at risk by keeping it in an offshore account during these troubling times. i'll let that [censored] sit safely in my bank and watch what happens.

UK based operations will be much more inclined to turn away US customers.

I have money tied up in long term wagers at Bet365.com, a UK based operation. Anybody know if they have announced anything yet regarding US customers?

It doesn't really help that a lot of poker players are biased against sports bettors, believing that "sports betting can't be beat!" Many of the people who only play poker just want an exemption for them and couldn't care about the rest of us.

so you're saying after i hit my parlay tonight with the eagles -11.5, i should withdraw all my money from bodog??

i've been 'kinda' keeping up with all the bill talk, but i guess i've never asked when exactly i should take my money out of a place like bodog or party...

not that it's a ton of money, but it's MY money, and i'd rather not get put into the position where some website is going to keep MY money...

Just as a PSA, I'm posting below the conversation I had with SIA's live chat:
[ QUOTE ]

ME: Hi. Has your operation made a decision as to what you're going to do about the recent USA legislation?
SIA: The new recent gaming legislation that has been passed is a security bill that has included some online wagering restrictions. At this stage, we do not believe that these online wagering restrictions will affect your ability to transact at Sports Interaction.
SIA: This legislation has been designed to prevent payments to what it deems "unlawful Internet gambling." Being licensed and regulated in Canada, Sports Interaction does not consider itself to be an unlawful Internet gambling enterprise. The bill does not in any way deem that placing a bet on the Internet is illegal, nor does it seek to prevent customers from receiving their winnings. The bill is designed to restrict certain methods of funding an illegal online gaming account but again, we do not believe it will affect all methods.
SIA: The regulations which the bill aims to impose have yet to be developed and according to the act, must not be in place for another 270 days. Therefore, the restrictions the bill will bring will not be clear for some time. We believe that most of the numerous options for funding your Sports Interaction account will be unaffected.
ME: I see you're getting plenty of this question!
SIA: Yes, we've created a template with as much info as possible for our clients.

[/ QUOTE ]

Now, obviously, their word isn't any guarantee, but I'm not concerned about my money (~$1200) at SIA.

I've had no issues with Mansion.

If you need a foreign addy, try the various maildrops:

http://www.private-services.com/vmaildrop.html

Initially receiving checks via snail-mail may be suboptimal, but it may not, what's a few days if you cash-out every month, and I doubt 95% of players cash out that regularly.

As long as sites do not ask for passports, isn't this an easy solution? For $20 lifetime fee [and postage fees] you get mail service, etc.
