I have never used any sort of tracker or any other software. I log every session I play into an excel spreadsheet, keeping tabs of profits/losses, time played, number of tables, site, and limits. That's about it though. I have never used poker tracker and don't even know the terminology that people bandy about. In fact, I just learned what vpip and pt/bb was in the last month.

As an addendum, I think that getting a feel of how players are playing in a given session by simple observation (which can be done even when multi-tabling) gives me much more information than statistics that I could get from any tracker program.

[/ QUOTE ] I agree, although I do not think the two are mutually exclusive. These days when I have been using PAHUD, very often it is just a supplement to previous notes, or current reads about the player. It is not as if the reads devoloped by observing a player are somehow forgotten when you read their recent stats for a session-- or their long term stats. |

Why manually do something every day when you can simply turn a program on and let it do everything for you? (I am not talking about HUDs, only PT tracking your sessions.) |

[/ QUOTE ] I don't trust PT to get everything. If you disconnect (or if Party has issues and bounces you from a table) or the HH doesn't write properly or whatever, your data can be incomplete. I use both PT and an Access database to keep records. I like that I have a double checking routine in place at the end of the day so, if something is amiss, I will be sure to notice it. Yesterday my numbers were off due to the Party red carpet thing getting paid; I wouldn't have even noticed that it had been if I just used PT. |

Only use PT, and that to keep track of sessions/wins/losses, as well as some stuff I'm making a separate post about. I can 5-table and still keep notes, make reads, etc without any additional software, but that may be because I play full ring.
