Yes, I support Isreal, rarely do I hear super-vitriolic things said about Palestine in the news, on the radio, etc, I hear pretty negative things about Isreal and Jews all the time. I hate most of the media etc.

[/ QUOTE ]

really?

[/ QUOTE ]

Well, unless you listen to super-right wing talk show hosts, most of the negativity is directed towards Isreal, not Palestine in the general newspapers/tv/media, the right-wingers support Isreal, but I dont really count right wing radio as "normal" media.

[/ QUOTE ]
I strongly disagree, and that's coming from someone who's considered going to school and living in Israel.

[/ QUOTE ]

dunno, this may not be a national thing, I dont pay tons of attention to the situation, but it is something I have noticed, so it sticks out.

I'd recommend O Jerusalem as a very detailed and thorough, yet readable history of the period around the time of the founding of Israel. It is a very comonly misunderstood time in history, and it is difficult to have a discussion of the current situation without actually knowing how we got to where we are today.

Although this is not the place to discuss it I think you are quite wrong.

Which religion was there first doesn't matter. The arabs had been living there for 2000 years before zionists decided that they wanted to go back.

Anyone interested should read: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Israel which from what I could see is pretty accurate.
I think my description of the events is, if not perfect, pretty decent.

Unsuprisingly, this:

precedes the article. I also fail to understand how your endorsement does anything for the veracity of the article.

xizor, you seem to be very inaccurate, and referencing wikipedia is not at all convincing.

suggesting a cease fire is a great idea. i'm pretty sure israel has attempted to end the fighting after every war in the middle east ever, yet they are never left alone. if you disagree, look at the map of israel over the years, its gets smaller and smaller since at the end of every war israel says look we're winning, but we'll give you this land and lets stop fighting. then they get attacked again.

You realize that the arabs kinda were there first?

[/ QUOTE ]

Glad you think so. It's truly astounding that with all the historical information that is readily available to anyone today, such blissful ignorance still exists.
