Another great showing by Michelle. She did really well to keep her head in the round after that double on 17 (her 8th hole).

I think 36 tomorrow gives her an advantage on most, but probably not Anika who has 'been there done that'.

Going to be a great day today though. I may even skip playing tomorrow to follow the action online/tv...

On a side note, it looks like the Yahoo handicap calculations match GHIN. I finally joined a club last month and received my first GHIN number today which was identical to my Yahoo number (12.5).

If you haven't joined the 2+2 Yahoo handicap group, do a search here for the post and join....

Except nobody will know what the pairing will be for the final 18 holes until they play the first 18.

Actually they aren't going to re-pair...

Hurst, Sorenstam Position Themselves For 36-Hole Run

2nd/3rd paragraph depending on what you count as a paragraph...

dunno if this is sexist but i loved this quote

"The 36-hole final doesn't bode well for Hurst, an unmade bed of a woman who doesn't seem to be in training for a marathon, or perhaps even a jog around the block."

I'm not sure how you can construe that as sexist. It's a simple explanation of someone who isn't in shape. I've heard similar remarks describing some members of the PGA Tour when this situation arises, especially someone like Tim "Lumpy" Herron.

wow they're playing 36 holes? michelle wie another top 5?

But she shouldn't have turned pro.

Did I say this? I never said Michelle shouldn't turn pro. She should definitely have turned pro...just needs to stop regularly trying to qualify for the US Open/Masters when she can't close out a pro victory. I'll go on the record saying she probably won't win...probably hang around for a top 5...try to make a run on the back 9 and then falter because she couldn't get a couple birdies when she needed to.

Haha, but you left off the next sentence in the article, which I found just as funny:

"Her best hope is to play 18 and summon her remaining reserves to do a rain dance."

Also, Schwartzy, for someone with Creamer as his avatar, you could help by chipping in on the exchange between me and tdk about the decent-looking broads these days. Her rack is outstanding and face isn't bad either (kind of reminds me of Capriati).

tdk,

You caught me. I should have written "better" rather than "good". The ones that would look mediocre in tennis or volleyball are rockin' hot on the LPGA.

That said, I do think there are many others w/decent bodies, if you subscribe to the "TV adds 10 lbs" theory. Ochoa, for example. I hear she's like 5'3" and barely 100 lbs, and while she has a face for radio, the rest is nice. Seriously, there are at least 3-4 others I'll see during my rare LPGA viewing where I'll be like yeah, more of her plz.

Although I think Wie will ultimately end up being a centaur (top half woman, bottom half horse), you can't tell me you wouldn't hit that. If it were legal, of course...

[/ QUOTE ]

LPGA definitely has to have the worst looking female pro athletes in any game. Since it requires no fitness regimen..and most of the ladies are old, there is no sense of appeal. Now that youth has taken over, more people have taken interest....perhaps the causation is young nubile girls = more viewers? Pressel...Creamer aren't the hottest things alive..but they're probably more appealing to watch than Laura Davies.

Annika was pretty cute I remember when she was winning her early US Opens. Ochoa is average..nothing that struck out.
I know there are many young American hotties out there...I just don't think they're that good. Help me out guys...and post pics.

Errrr, how is this first round not televised

Michelle and Annika...the only 2 under par for the championship (-1, -2 respectively)...

It's going to be hard to go play today...
