Yeah, I guess it's a low risk film from a finacial perspective according to their research. But I guess I'm about 30% that I will see it.

$90M

don't discount the fact that it's 154 minutes long, which may translate into fewer screenings per day

[/ QUOTE ]

Wow, didn't know that.

a theatre open for 14 hours (10am-midnight) that has roughly 20 min of trailers/ads and 20 minutes to clean the theatre/refill it can show Superman 4 times. They can show Spiderman (120 minutes) 5 times. that adds up and is part of the reason studios don't like it when films go much over 2 hours.

i figured for the $260M they were spending, they weren't gonna skimp on length, so it was worth checking.

$90M for different reasons than pryor. All the previews have been [censored] stupid so far. While i think a large # of people will see it anyway because 'it's superman' i also think they've done a poor job selling it to the public.

i think maybe you're discounting the rabid fan base of Johnny Drama. I mean, he was awesome in Viking Quest.

Didn't Singer spend a lot on the X-Men movies too? I thought those were relatively short.

Obviously Singer didn't spend it, you know what I mean.

I think one of the main drawbacks of this movie's appeal is that a complete NOBODY is playing Superman.
