I actually go out of the way to say to bad players that they are good and that they have solid game etc... etc... I try to keep the bad players at my table as long as possible. Exactly what was said before, I want the best +ev situation possible.

Is it too late to start by not referring to them as "fish"?

[/ QUOTE ]

Casino's call them "VIP's".

Yeah, well; that's what you get for consorting with Shadows and getting on Londo's bad side.

It is my observation that the 'table coaches/beraters' of online play are those who's ego's are weak.

[/ QUOTE ]

I wasn't a Psych. major, but I would say just the opposite. Their ego (and self image) are greatly inflated. They not only think they are superior to their "student" but they need to make sure everyone else knows they are superior.
Phil Hellmuth is the poster child.

Those with poor self-images or those who are insecure often overcompensate, hence my comment/observation.

I've seen people berate fish that sucks out on them. I don't see people berate fish that's losing money to them all that often though.

I've been berated by 2+2ers before.

As have I...many times after a screen name change. I once was experimenting at a lower limit and got berated by such a person. I was making some strange plays and the whole table thought I was a fish. I promptly told the entire table that I was leaving becuase of player XXXX and I got up and left at the blind. I thought that might drive the point home a little better.

This never ceases to amaze me. I have seen it way too much.

I deal poker and there have been sometimes online where I just kick into dealer mode and tell them to tone it down. Of course this does no good because then they just start coming after me and I end up leaving the game. Thank God online I can just go to another table or aanother site.

Maybe we should start sending notes to customer service with a copy of the chat from the hand histories and have them send them a little note to tell them to stop.

Heck I go my chat privileges pulled at prima for mentioning the RB word and I was just carrying on a 1/2 hour conversation with a guy about playing online poker, different books, and things like that. Maybe if they would start taking chat away from some of these people they would learn.

I lost 4 buy-ins at a table experimenting with NL $50 the other night. Maybe this was me! Nah, couldn't be--I woulda been bitching left and right.
