Re: AK w/ TPTK vs Potential AA
[ QUOTE ]
a thinking tag does this a million times more with 99 than AA or AJ ? (AJ is pretty much not in his range i would hope) [/ QUOTE ] Twice you've stated this but haven't given a reason yet. Why do you say this? A thinking guy LRR UTG because he got tired of his big hands not getting any action, why would he start pumping a middle pp where he doesn't want action? |

Re: AK w/ TPTK vs Potential AA
If it wasn't for the fact that this game is 7-handed, I would be certain I'm the villain here. I LRR'ed from UTG (full ring) with AA yesterday on a PokerRoom skin, and the hand played out pretty much exactly as described. I've starting using the LRR with bullets in early position at tight tables because I'm tired of just taking down the blinds with them. I doubt I'm alone in this.

Man, what is this? Is today national "Spew into AA" day? [/ QUOTE ] bet/calling the turn after seeing this flopped capped is playing blind.. [ QUOTE ] Second question: Do I raise to find out if he has AA/99/AJ or call it down? [/ QUOTE ] you'll find out at showdown.. spending as much $$ as it'd cost to showdown to make a 'great' laydown is rarely correct. |

Re: AK w/ TPTK vs Potential AA
Alright thanks for all the input. Seems I've donked off a SB preflop and 2SB post-flop. Here's how the hand played out:
Turn: J[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (6.25BB, 2 players) Hero checks, <font color="#cc0000">UTG bets</font>, Hero calls. River: 3[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (8.25BB, 2 players) Hero checks, UTG checks. Results: Final pot: 8.25BB Hero shows A[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] K[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] UTG shows J[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] Q[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] So I said above: [ QUOTE ] So at the turn, I figured this guy was putting on a big bluff or had the nuts with AA. [/ QUOTE ] I guess I guessed wrong. Thanks for helping me with the 99.99% in this situation. I even marked this guy with a TAG in the "Classify Player" feature in PokerRoom |

I seriously hope you reevaluated your labelling this guy a TAG...

Did I ever re-evaluate
Although, I had only seen this guy show down QQ, JJ, and AK previously. He promptly left the game the next hand. |

Re: AK w/ TPTK vs Potential AA
You probably put in too many raises regardless. "Guessing wrong" doesn't matter. What matters is probabilities. Once he raises you, the probability of AA is quite high. This time he didn't have it. Buy yourself a (wait, what stakes is this?) couple beers (yay 0.50/1!) to celebrate.
