Re: *Semi-Official* WSOP Smaller Events Thread
I'm playing in events 2, 3, 5, 6, and the ME. I may do some side games/tournaments when I'm down there depending on WSOP tournament results.

Re: *Semi-Official* WSOP Smaller Events Thread
TV,
Last year, there were no satellites (other than ME), but there are SNGs. Depending on size, you got $500 chips to enter tourneys + cash. You can obviously chop chips. They were just like turbos, and I would say that it was very very loose...calling them 33s is being too nice. Not aggressive at all, everyone too scared to go busto. edit: Usually winner take most. If I remember one I entered, it was $130+10 10 seats, winner gets 2 $500's + 140, 2nd gets 160. Blinds were as you stated, 1000 starting chips, 25/25, etc. |

Re: *Semi-Official* WSOP Smaller Events Thread
I revised my plan a bit, I think I'm going to come out and play 3-5 events after July 17 or so (depending on bankroll).
As for the get together, I'm definitely game. Let's use this thread to make a meeting place as we get closer. |

Re: *Semi-Official* WSOP Smaller Events Thread
I am getting there 6/25 in the morning and playing Event 2 on 6/27 and leaving on 6/30. Staying at Bellagio. Planning to mix things up with some NL cash and a lot of the "satellite" SNGs. Maybe play a Bellagio or Wynn tourney depending on how other things are going. I will be coming back for some other events, but not sure which ones yet.
LFT, the "satellites" are really just SNGs. They have several different levels, probably from $35 up to $1000. They pay out in tourney chips, but you can sell them fairly easily, especially to people in line to buy in to one of the daily tourneys or one of the second chance tourneys. They are winner take all, but deals can be made. They are generally very, very soft. Your big hands will get paid off big time and if you don't get big hands most people will not understand your short stack play once the blinds are worthwhile. Of course, this is all based off my attendance at a circuit event, so take it for what it's worth. |

Re: *Semi-Official* WSOP Smaller Events Thread
Just wanted to chime in to agree with UCLA that the SNG Sats in Vegas are extremely supremely ridiculously soft. Even a rudimentary understanding of pushbotting should be VERY profitable there.

Re: *Semi-Official* WSOP Smaller Events Thread
I dont get back to Vegas until the 28th (or 29th, I forget), but I'm planning on playing a gazillion of the SNG sats and hope to play several of the $1500-$3000 NLHE events.

Re: *Semi-Official* WSOP Smaller Events Thread
I am flying in on Jul 16th. I am going to play in event #27, $1500 NL. I am going to try to win the W$ from Stars to buy me in over the next week. If that fails, then I will be playing the SNGs on Sunday. If that fails, I'm just buying in.
I am in Vegas for the entire week, so depending on how things, I may play in event #31, $2000 NL. Here's to hoping I become a total card-rack luckbox. My flight is booked already. I am going to be booking the hotel this week. Not sure where I am staying yet. |
