Last pitcher to 400 wins??

[/ QUOTE ]

Do you really think he's going to average 11 wins a year for five more years? As durable as he is, he's going to have to shut it down sometime, he's in his 22nd year.

It was a joke. It would be super super crazy if he did that.

It would be awesome. He should learn to throw the knuckleball. Final career record: 512-464. Age at retirement: 76. He will be inducted into the Hall of Fame with kids who aren't even alive right now.

I know you are kidding, but the last to 300 wins thing is so stupid.
23 pitchers have 300 wins,.
11 of them didn't play one game after 1930
That leaves the remaining 12
Clemens, Maddux and Glavine from this era
Lefty Grove debuted in 1925
Early Wynn and Spahn deubted in 1939 and 1942 respectively.
Carlton, Ryan, Sutton, Niekro, Perry and Seaver all debuted in the 1960s.
Nobody who debuted between 1967-1984 had 300 wins and three and potentially four come from the 80s. It looks to me there will be more 300 game winners going forward.

Yeah I know, the ridiculousness of the "last 300 game winner" stories is what I thought was funny.

Might be the best pure pitcher (as opposed to thrower) who's ever lived, but he's non-controvercial in just about every way and he's private. Pretty remarkable, though he's obviously been juicing for the last five years or so.

Juicing accusations are the best.

For those that say he is washed up, he is 3-0 with a 1.93 era and a sub 1.0 whip in his last 3 starts over 18 2/3.

[/ QUOTE ]

this doesn't mean much. but he does have a 3.9 era and 1.2 whip this season, so he definitely isn't washed up.

[/ QUOTE ]

He pitches in Petco, and behind a great defense.
