Its much easier to lie to yourself about how much you are up or down in live poker. In online poker there is the cashiers box and if u deposited 600 and now it says 0..... it becomes very tricky to tell yourself your "about even".

people who act like they are awesome at live poker and suck at online poker are donks. The same concepts apply to both. If you are good at one you should be good at the other.

I'd disagree with that. I'm not a "Great" live player by any means, at all, but I am a winning live player. I keep a log of every session I play, so I'm not just lying to myself. But online, I'm a losing player. Why? I don't know, for some reason, I found myself going on tilt when I played online - something that I don't do much playing live. I don't know if it's because there is no one to talk to when you play online, or the fact that I felt like I was losing my money to internet dorks, but something puts me on tilt. Actually, even when I was winning online, I'd still be grumpy after I stopped playing. Whereas live play, I'm happy and relaxed, I enjoy it.

a decent possibility is that your skill level is enough to beat the average live game but not online one...just a thought

err, no, I'm talking about tilting. Online, I'm grumpy even when winning. Live, I'm not even when losing. When I lose online I tilt a lot, when I lose live, I don't tilt at all. I also didn't find the games to be any harder playing 1/2 online than I did playing 1/2 at the Taj Mahal. Play tight and all the bad players will still donate.
