I have one word for you; Maultaschen

I was in Germany a few weeks ago and my girlfriend and I were staying with her host family in the Swabisch Alps. Apparantly maultaschen is a regional specialty and we had a sh*t ton for dinner. They served them pan-fried and in soup.

Horn - hahahaha. I do, actually, really like soul food alot.

LF Slim - [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] Red Lion. My buddy claims they let you karaoke downstairs (I guess the old guy at the keyboard just plays requests?) but I've never seen it before.

As far as food, I love whats is called Karottensalat (Carrot salad). Delicious and easy to make.

My all time favorite is called Apfelschmarren. This is an apple, scrambled egg, cinnamon combo that is generally eaten as a light dinner or desert. The ladies really like it as drunk after-bar food. Recipes availiable upon request.

Plz post recipes both sound good.

Karrotensalat-
5-8 Carrots, Shred these with a cheese grater. Kinda sucks to do this but well worth it. Important to use cheese grater as it will create correct size of carrot pieces. Put carrots in a bowl.

2 Tablespoons Lemon Juice (one freshly squeezed lemon)

1 Tablespoon brown sugar

1.5 Tablespoon honey

Handful of Golden Raisins

Voila!

You are correct sir. I studied for a semester in the schwabischen alps (Tuebingen), and I ate that [censored] all the time.

Saurbraten is good. The wife is partial to Hassenfeffer.

I'm addicted to that stuff. I guess the blame goes to the fact that I've spent 16 years living in and around Stuttgart (swabian capital).

Also, Schweinshaxn, Rindsroulade, and Spätzle are all-time classics that simply go down well.
Schnitzel? Meh. Too dry for me gusto, but together with a good mushroom sauce it's definitely edible.

I guess there's no need to mention that there are many great German beers - but don't be fooled, there's a ton of crappy beer, too.
