Rothko, are you going to post a story or just keep making negative posts? Try and get with the spirit of the contest, it's not that bad.

Any thoughts on mine? This is actually a prequel to a novel that I'm trying to write. I found it easier to write the backstory as a short story, rather than try to imagine it for the longer form.

Is there a post somewhere that outlines the guidelines for entries? I looked over the first couple pages of the lounge and didn't spot one.

I'm always interested in "group" projects where the requirements are open in terms of first-person and third-person writing.

I am actually shocked by how much third person was done (its about 50/50 right now). Usually when there isn't a requirement it seems that people go with what they are more familiar with--first person. It is easier to put yourself into the character if you're allowed to write "I" all of the time.

I may think about submitting something. Unfortunately creative writing is not somethign I feel is my strong suit, despite my CW teacher from last semester trying to convince me otherwise.

Sidenote: Every time I see him in the halls I KNOW he is just wishing I had some work to bring into him and ask him to look over. Unfortunately I haven't done any creative writing since his class ended. Maybe I can write a fiction story about how I feel like I'm getting crushed every time I see him look at me :-/

I really liked Vespers, and That Someone Should Care.

I would have liked to see the ending of Vespers be that the priest was dying of cirrosis of the liver just like his brother did... turns out he had developed a drinking problem too, not mentioned in the story till now!

TSSC is my favorite though because the ending came out of nowhere, and I loved the appropriately placed stream of consciousness sentences!
