Re: Pushing ATC UTG <4 BB\'s
I def fold a few hands here. Especially in a tourney without antes. Putting 1/4 of your stack in the bb isn't horrible.
a number of beneficial scenarios can occur: a) Other players clash this hand b) Other players clash next hand before action gets to you c) You pick up a hand d) You get a walk e) It gets limped to you And even if not, we do have some FE in the sb next hand, and if that goes to hell, well then we do have a couple more hands to double up (having already lost a large portion of our stack, this sucks, but it's not the end of the world). |

Re: Pushing ATC UTG <4 BB\'s
Moreover, 2300 is far from a disaster scenario. You're going to lose a lot of FE when we have to fold but we can usually get a +EV spot the rest of the STT.

Re: Pushing ATC UTG <4 BB\'s
I can't believe people advocating shoving ATC here, it's terrible IMHO.

Re: Pushing ATC UTG <4 BB\'s
Nash equlibrium in this spot is something like 20% push.
http://www.holdemresources.net/hr/sngs/i...amp;s8=&s9= Push range: CO - 19.8%, 22 AT KJ QJ A3s K8s Q8s J8s T8s 98s With call ranges: BTN - 6.8%, 88 AJ SB - 10.0%, 55 AT A9s KQs BB - 30.0%, 22 A2 K9 QT K5s Q9s J9s T9s Two things to consider are: * The nash equlibrium calling ranges are not what we are actually getting called with? * We will be hit by BB next hand so our equity is less than ICM would suggest. I think more realistic calling ranges are something like: BTN - 12%, 44 A9 A7s KQs SB - 15%, 33 A8 A4s KTs BB - 40%, 22 A2 K3 Q9 JT K2s Q5s J8s T9s If we plug those ranges into SngWiz we get the following: Push range - 13%, 55 A9 KQ A7s KJs But since we will be in BB next hand, this range is waaaay waaay too tight. If we turn on 'Simulate Future Games' then we get the following: Push range - 42%, 22 A2 K5 Q9 J9 T9 K2s Q6s J7s T7s 97s 86s 76s 65s I think that range is reasonable. I am probably one of the tighter players in this scenario and I would generally push slightly tighter than 40%. I would guess something like 35%. Another thing to consider is: * Are the other players on the bubble regulars? If we are playing against 3 regulars and we push ATC from CO here. They will quickly pick up on that and we will be called very very wide. Thats obviously bad for us. So if two different ranges have about the same $EV we should pick the tighter range because of how our image will affect future games. --- Cliff notes --- I would push something like: 35%, 22 A2 K8 QT JT A2s K2s Q7s J7s T7s 97s 87s 76s |
