I would guess (because seriously I'm clueless about thist stuff) that a lot of Gates's worth is in the market, and that a 4M swing can't be that insane or rare for a guy with his wealth

[/ QUOTE ]yeah, if the market fluctuates .1% in a day (which happens everyday), his wealth would fluctuate 25 million assuming it's half in stocks or 50 million assuming it's mostly in stocks.

He's been selling his shares for years, his net worth would be about 10% higher than is at the moment which would still keep him as world's richest (some mexican telecoon passed him I believe). I don't think he cares about it much anymore since he's pledged the majority of his wealth to charity, and you can't just wait until you're 65, drop half your stake in MS and not mess things up.
