As I'm too lazy to research on my own, can someone post the difference between the core and the premium? I'm about to buy one and I figure I should get the premium. I have an HD capable TV if that changes anything.

I stayed at Dalimans house for about a month this winter, and spent pretty much all of my time playing sngs or Cameo. It reminded me a lot of Zelda for the N64. Great game.

I'll save you the rental, if you dislike RPG you are not gonna like Oblivion enough to want to buy it.

I dislike RPGs and I loved the second and third Elder Scrolls games (Daggerfall and Morrowind) and I loved Oblivion as well.

Condemned: Criminal Origins is an AWESOME game. It only has a single player component though and you can probably knock it out in ~10-12 hours, so it's probably better to rent than buy.

Shant: Get the premium. Hard drive + HD cables + wireles controller > $100.

Ghost Recon: Advanced Warfighter is a must buy, the single player campaign is amazing and the multiplayer modes are a lot of fun

Ghost Recon is amazing. You should really get it.

Also, I've heard that the online multiplayer with this game is extraordinarily hard. Does anyone have any experience with this?

Echo GRAW if you're in to single player.

If you're in to multiplayer shooters, Battlefield 2 without question is a lot better than online GRAW or CoD.

Has anyone had any problems with CoD2? I rented it from Gamefly and couldn't play it as I was constantly getting "Sentient out of range" errors. Googling this gives the answer that if you are playing on the easy setting and get too far away from your troop, the game freezes, but I've had it happen at the END of a level. The disc didn't appear to be scratched too much.

Oblivion is very worth a try. Although it's classified as an RPG, it has more of an action/adventure feel to it. The fighting is all realtime and is done in a FPS view, so it's not like one of those stand across from each other and take turns attacking games. I can't count the number of times I've seen non-RPG'ers say they love this game.

GRAW is also a very solid game. It's a FPS but mixes in some tactical/team combat. It's similar to brother in arms in controlling a squad but the controls are dumbed down a bit and easier to use.
