20 bots were caught because they had the same playing pattern. How many bots are out there with different playing patterns?

Tip of the iceburg.

The bots that have been found are the tip of the iceburg.

O RLY? Prove it.

[ QUOTE ]
The fact that a bot is not anywhere near world class does not make the issue any less scary. If allowed to continue they will improve.

[/ QUOTE ]

Improve to what? I fully believe that a bot could never play world-class poker.

Neither will the vast majority of pros on this site who make or supplement their living playing online poker at fishy tables.

I don't know how many others are doing this, neither does anyone. But to say that it is "the tip of the iceberg" is speculation, not fact. I agree with you that it is bad for the integrity of the game.

Didn't read anyone else's comments yet...but thought I'd share a story.

So I'm 3-tabling UB while playing an Interpoker 2-4 to clear a bonus. About an hour in, I look down at the chat and see that they are saying I'm a bot because I'm not responding to questions. I let it go on for a while, then I flop a straight and lose when the guy's set turns into a boat. So I type "sucks to flop straights" or something. Suddenly the whole table starts telling me how they thought I was definitely a bot.

Moral of the story? 99% of suspected bots are probably players that stay on top of the action and don't chat.

as is this..

[ QUOTE ]
Bots are not common, but the few that are out there are made an example of, so it seems like a bigger problem than it is.

It's a logical inferrence to say that they are uncommon. Do you see why?

Does it really matter how we say it.They are out there and no way should we just shrug our shoulders and say what can we do?

The original thread was not about what we should do. I have no idea what to do. I guess code verification for tourneys or something.

It is widespread,,,what we should do is apply pressure to the sites to take this seriously. And to keep this ongoing until they get rid of the problem.
