NL central concept is the same as limits which is the same as stud: Make less mistakes then your opponents, and capitialize on their frequent mistakes. AK to a fish is gold. The implied odds with 67s against a raise are pretty good when in position. With draws, we recommend playing them in a semi limit fashion on the flop i.e. leading. With your big draws (OESFD), you really want to bet//3 bet all in (again, see dbitel post). YOu can often get a free card on the turn.

I was a little surprised of dbitel's answer but he is a experienced NL pooh-bah so I didn't say anything. Just glad that someone is also isolating a ton [img]/images/graemlins/smile.gif[/img] I will not give it up just yet....

About speculative hands, Isn't Nl about NOT giving your opponent odds to draw so im suprised these dont go down in value?

Is this because (good players) will call on the basis of the size of your stack therefore using implied odds more so than their pot odds for their draw?(I.e. gutshot straight getting 5:1 but if i hit im sure ill stack him for 20+BB's).

And when im chasing draws, is the assumption because bad players WILL give me free cards or the odds to draw anyhow?

Also can you confirm the basic question of, what is a PTBB? half a BB in limit?

As far as drawing hands are concerned, they are profitable because people will make two mistakes:
1. To give the correct direct odds for you to draw to your hand
2. To pay off when the draw hits
Underbetting of the pot and slowplaying is rampant by the poor players (the majority) at SSNL. You will get a lot of free or cheap cards when someone slowplays a set for example. And then when your straight/flush hits, they don't want to fold their set. Do not draw for incorrect pot odds unless you are sure you will get paid off. Paying off when a draw hits is standard in limit, right? In no limit it's a big mistake.

Correct direct pot odds + big implied odds=$$$$$

Yeah, reading whitelime's posts (btw thank you for posting this link, cos I hadn't read it before...and its GOLD) and Isura's and thinknig about it a bit more, I admit my advice was bad, sorry [img]/images/graemlins/blush.gif[/img]

I kinda misunderstood the question, and thought that a typical fish had raised, and should we reraise. Yeah, when you have a limper or two in, its a very good idea to raise with nearly all the holdings you were planning to call with.
