I guess this would be standard if the goal of poker was to charge yourself the absolute maximum to draw while representing no real made hands.

not standard at all for me..... seems like the majority of donks on drawy boards are draws, not made hands, as checkraising is the trendy thing to do with any pair HU. as always this is villian dependent.
as for me, i checkraise either the flop, or the turn, depending on several factors. if the villian tends to be more showdown bound, i tend to checkraise the flop b/c my equity is higher and since he is less likely to fold A high or bottom pair, i want to get my money in with as much equity as possible. if villian is the type that will fold hands like A hight and bottom pair, then i will will wait for the turn to checkraise, as long as the turn card is a relative blank, in an attempt to steal the pot either on the turn, or with a bluff on the river. however i should point out that at small stakes... if they call your turn c/r, they are likely to call the river bet as well with any hand with showdown value. wow that was long. anyway, no i prefer a checkraise |

If I check raise on the flop, get a call, should I lead the turn or try to get a free card ?

If I check raise on the flop, get a call, should I lead the turn or try to get a free card ? [/ QUOTE ] The five on turn is scary, you have to lead the turn imo. Maybe a line check raise the turn/free card is possible but you need to have reads and to do the maths. If the pfr was the button, I agree this line is the best. But with a CO without reads, I don't know if there is enough better hands like k7 which can fold on the turn with this board. If I check call the flop, I check raise for sure this turn and lead the river. |
