I have tried this a couple of times either with TT or JJ and both times villain has just shoved. Maybe I was unlucky, but the point is you need to be sure you're picking on the right guy. As played are you really calling an overshove?

[ QUOTE ]
Do I think he is playing back light? Yes I am sure of it. He plays back 40% of the time, raising nearly all of them. So lets say that 35% of every call he makes, he is raising the flop. [/ QUOTE ] Isn't that about the right % for him to make a hand and play back? He will flop 1 pair on more about 32% of the time that he calls with unpaired hands. And an A,K, Q or J will not appear on the flop about 30% of the time he has a pocket pair lower than that, so he could raise safe flops and flops he makes a set (~12%). If he has a pair half the time, he will play back 42% + 32% / 2 of the time for right around 35-40% of the time. |

I think that this is all about villains willingness to call a threebet with AJ or AQ. In general this play (your play) isnt something I like that often but since youre seeing a vulnerability in your opponents game my hat is off to you for trying to exploit it.
If you think hell actually get off of a good Ace then I think this is a great play. |
