It really is pretty hard to think of an explanation, but I'd still bring it up with her like "OMG, you won't believe what happened!", not "OMG, what are you trying to do to me?".

Yeah, for some reason my initial fear was the poisoning, but I don't think gas works so well for that, and is much better at exploding me. This seems like sloppy work though, no remote timer or anything, she was just hoping like a lightswitch or TV would do the job? This lessens the likelihood of attempted blowing-uppedness, imo.

Simple explanation -

Maintenance man bangs on door saying theres a gas leak. You open door and let him in. He goes into kitchen and turns on three burners. He calls you into kitchen and shows you what a 'narrow escape' you had. Out of gratitude, you let him sex up your girlfriend. He profits.
