Beat: Someone trying to poison me?
 

So, I live in an apartment building with my girlfriend. I wake up this morning at ~9:30 to someone pounding on my front door, like just going to town on it. I get up to see who it is, and its this maintenence guy. He wants to check for a gas leak because apparently you can smell gas on my entire floor. Now that he mentions it, yeah, it smells like gas pretty significantly. So I open the door and tell him to search away, and go back to bed (I'm not smart?). He yells for me to come out to the kitchen, where 3 of the 4 burners are turned on to about halfway, i.e. gas is coming out and they aren't lit. WTF is that? There is a 0% chance that my girlfriend cooked anything this morning, and we havent used the stove-top in at least a week. And we would never use 3 out of 4 burners, we aren't exactly gourmet chefs. How do 3 burners get turned halfway on at the same time on accident? Is there any explanation other than girlfriend is going to blow me up and start a new life in Mexico?

FWIW, the maintenence guys have keys to all the apartments and occasionally do enter them, although they give us a heads up a few days in advance. To my knowledge, none of them have been in the apartment in weeks.

There is no explanation other than your girlfriend is trying to kill you. Do you smoke?
