Re: stud 8 hand i was confused on
[ QUOTE ]
I actually like the raise here, maybe i'm alone. I personally think you played this hand perfectly, if he sucked out on the river that is simply unfortunate, although it doesn't look like he did unless he is reeally bad. [/ QUOTE ] I actually don't mind the raise all that much in this spot as a steal because of everyone's door card. I figure no one can have a low draw that's better of any significance. And since we have an Ace underneath, our hand should be at least as good as most any one else. Depending who and how many others get involved could make it a tricky hand to play on the later street though. |

Re: stud 8 hand i was confused on
I would like the raise on third better if I thought there was any chance that you could buy the antes. I'm guessing that will almost never happen at this level. It's been pointed out that your pair cards are dead, but the cards you need for a low are actually very live. Still, I like my three-card Eights to have a little more going for them than this one does, so I prefer a fold. I don't think that calling or raising are terrible, though.
Everything else looks pretty straightforward. |

Re: stud 8 hand i was confused on
3rd is a fold, not really close (esp if the A is aggro)

3rd is a fold, not really close (esp if the A is aggro) [/ QUOTE ] it's an easy fold if the ace is aggro because he'll bet regardless of whether he has a made high, made low or a good draw and we can't read his hand and know where we're at right? |

Re: stud 8 hand i was confused on
I'm not that worried about aggressive players in a micro-limit stud/8 game.
