It's actually pretty common to toss them a whitebird from what I've seen.

Me too.

Every time I have tipped a cashier at the Borg, I have heard a thank you. I don't do it all the time, but if I am up and leaving for the day, I will throw a dollar to the cashier..

The cashiers at Caesar's are not fishing although I could see why you would think that. Their spiel is part of the last customer service campaign at Harrah's, it is a requirement of their job and people have actually been fired from Harrah's properties for not fully complying with those campaigns. If you don't want to tip that is fine (I rarely do) but I don't think they should be punished for doing their job.

My last time at the Borg after a good session I cashed out a few racks of red and flipped the cashier one of my loose whites. He was very appreciative and thanked me, but instead of keeping the chip he included it in my cashout and just had me give him back a dollar bill. Don't know if this is standard procedure though.

I hold a couple of whites until after the cashier has counted the chips and put out the cash. Then as I am leaving the window I lay em down (NEVER hand money or chips to a cashier/dealer for you new guys). I have always gotten a thank-you from the cashiers @ Borg.

I always give them all my chips. Then if I have any singles, I lay them back down on the counter for them. They always say thank you and really appreciative. NO problems this way. Done it several dozen times.

I don't tip when I cash out, because:

A: It takes 1 minute (at the very most)
B: It's what they are paid to do.
C: They don't know if I'm down or up.
D: The casino takes too much off the table to begin with.
