Re: $16 Stars: 10 10 against regular
[ QUOTE ]
it's possible his return to a more normal raise amount is because his last push put him over 10bb. [/ QUOTE ] This is important. Some players just know the 10BB rule and not why the 10BB rule - others will push deeper when it makes sense (like here). If I'm pretty sure he'd push 12.5BB normally, I'd fold. If I think he's just gone back to standard raises because he got over 10BB I'd push. If he normally raises 2.5x at this level, I'm confused and try to work out if he's going for extra FE or trying to provoke a push. |

Re: $16 Stars: 10 10 against regular
fold looks good to me here i think he's on a pretty tight range if he's a 'solid regular,' and generally i see regs going back to a 'standard' raise when they trying to provoke a push, and they probably push with AK/AQ type hands.

Re: $16 Stars: 10 10 against regular
In insta-push this all day at the 16's. Only 4 hands that have you beat (JJ, QQ, KK, AA). Im sure he is opening with a LOT more hands then those 4.
10 10 will be the best hand most of the time. Don't even think about folding this hand. |

We're not necessarily ahead of his raising range, probably don't have much FE and unless he's a donk we're badly behind his calling range. "Regular" doesn't suggest donk, but there are plenty of losing regulars too. Ho does he actually play? |

Re: $16 Stars: 10 10 against regular
Well 'regular' is very broad word. There a plenty of bad ones. 90% of the regulars really loosen up when the blinds hit 75/150 and up, trying to steal blinds.

Re: $16 Stars: 10 10 against regular
^^well exactly. It's not really a read, but it implies that the OP has a bit of respect for villain's game. As does OPs assessment of calling a push but folding to the raise. OP seems to think he has a pretty tight range for this - in which case it's a fold.

Re: $16 Stars: 10 10 against regular
I'd fold. I just dont see how you can be ahead of a regular's range. And by regular, I'm assuming you mean a somewhat tight, nonstupid player. Also, you saying he pushed the last hand makes it that much more unlikely he is getting frisky with 33 or A6s here.

Re: $16 Stars: 10 10 against regular
Really crappy spot, it would be more interesting with jacks though. I'm folding here unless I know for sure this guy is opening 77 and AT etc, and like Josem said if he's solid then that's unlikely.
