On a related note. How do you guys get cash at the Belagio in the first place. Do you just show up with 10k+ in your pocket? Some kind of bank transfer?

I dont really feel comfortable carrying a 15/30 roll in cash much less a 1/2 roll.

on my first few poker trips, i was very uneasy about carrying around 3-5k anywhere. but as i move up in limits and have to bring more money, i get used to carrying it.

just bring the cash in your pocket, or a fanny pack or man purse, and then get a box somewhere and keep it there until you leave.

once you get there though, you'll feel silly for being worried about carrying that kind of cash. 5k in your pocket wont even turn heads in a casino in vegas.

I'm not sure if he posts much on 2+2 but a friend of a friend at the Tstone tourney brought maybe 15k with him. He won a ton playing 30/60 and 50/100 so by the end of the week he had around 30k on him....in his wallet. It was definitely a George Costanza beast, absolutely hilarious.

That's a huge wallet. I never was able to put more than about 6k into a standard wallet and still have it close.

you stay at a dump downtown but you have enough cash to need a box at the cage? I seriously don't get this at all.

The fact that you don't understand this is very typical of the American middle-class conservative attitude, made up of so many under-achievers, so prevalent in this country. Folks who really have no concept of true wealth or how to attain and preserve it. I would highly recommend reading a book called "The Millionaire Next Door". After reading this, you will understand.

No thanks, instead of buying that book I'll just spend an extra $29 a night and stay at the Flamingo.

Default The Wad...

Only one man can save this thread, and thats Paul the Wad. Unfortunately, the Wad does not own a computer or Im sure he would chime in. The Wad does not believe in boxes because he has no idea what the hell those guys do back there with the money, and he doesnt trust the SOB's. The Wad also does not trust the bank for similar reasons. So, he always brings his entire bankroll to whatever poker game he plays in, rubber bands it up nice and tight, and places it on the table. Its usually anywhere from 25-30k, and most of the hundreds have not budged in years. The money will be on the table regardless of whether he is playing 3-6 or 30-60, and he has been known to play both.

The Wad has gone 56 years without being robbed in a parking lot of casino bathroom. If it hasnt happened to him yet, I dont think you guys have to worry about carrying around a few thousand. The again the Wad is about 6'5 230, and is probably only like 75% human, so maybe you should get a box.

I agree with barron. that was a fantastic post.

I was actually wondering about this same "box" question.

This clears it up some. however, 15-20k in your pocket is not comfortable.

Yeah I agree it defintely seems foolish to carry that kind of money around. I wasnt trying to break the original posters balls, just hoping to get some good Paul the Wad gossip going. He is kinda poker famous in a homemade porno movie sort of way.
