Or you can call down safely getting amazing odds on your 6 outs. In my experience they normally fold if you just pop it up to about pot though..

I don't mind it so much, but I tend to be more passive than 2+2 orthodoxy. A bet is fine too. If you check the turn you have to bet a blank river.
