Default Re: Legit question. Can \"they\" ever stop WU or MG deposits?

A good chunk of their overseas business is immigrants in the US (both legal and illegal) sending part of their wages back home. Until there is some reliable way (and who knows as technology advances) to distinguish between JC1234 in Costa Rica who turns the money over to FT (disclaimer - I have no idea if this is even remotely how it works) and JC1235 who gives the money to a relative of the sender, WU and MG are going to be there; though enforcement may lead to delays (as new accounts need to be created when old ones are discovered being used for"gambling").

Exactly. Choking the flow of cash payments from the U.S. to Latin America would have grave human and foreign policy consequences. Efforts to cut off WU for gambling will only be as good as the process that differentiates between gambling money and legitimate payments.

Having worked for PokerStars, I can tell you that stopping Western Union deposits is going to be next to impossible.

If the US Gov started to seize funds to JC1234 on a daily but irregular basis, how long with Pokerstars use WU/MG for transactions?

What you might not get is the fact that PokerStars might have JC1234 through JC9999 to receive payments...
