Hero should probably fold Axs UTG.

[/ QUOTE ]

Why do people become so tight these days? I limp this all day from UTG.

[/ QUOTE ]

Because then you get ISO'd by MP with A(x+1) and he takes your monnies.

[/ QUOTE ]

I guess it depends on the tables you are playing.

In what game does that show a long term profit?

Loose 5/10¢ games like this. Assuming he knows the field.

Raising the flush draw is fine on the flop.
Call river.

[/ QUOTE ]

folding A4s utg in a loose passive game is retarded.

hero played this hand well, but call river.

Play it if you like. I'm not doing it "relatively new to the table".

So you are saying that I should ISO an UTG limper w/ A5 in MP?

Hero calls.

Hero probably should also have bet the turn.

What he said...

I've never seen a .05/.10 limit game where i've felt uncomfortable playing AXs from early position. I could care less if it is raised behind me as long as a few limpers come along. As long as your somewhat competent postflop, you're fine.

Well no, I am just saying that the reason you don't play small Axs is because too often you end up 2 or three handed against a bigger Ax, often to a raise. The +1 in A(x+1) was not to be taken literally. Maybe I should have said Ax+

*Grunch*

Pre-flop -- wouldn't limp this from UTG myself, but that's coz I never find a passive enough table.

Flop -- nice. And make a note on MP2 for folding when getting 13:1 plus a couple more. Maybe a good target when a scare card falls :-)

Turn -- I'd probably c-bet here, especially if I think I'll fold CO. Plus it disguises the FD and may get me a free SD if required.

River's a call as played, there's lots the BB could bet here on your "obvious" busted flush, and let's get one more from CO while we're at it.
