If he indeed finished 2nd then that's [censored] awesome. Who the [censored] cares about a bracelet? It doesn't mean anything.?

[/ QUOTE ]

my thoughts exactly...450k means just a little more than a bracelet...except winning the bracelet means more money. that's it. i'm a poker fan, and i understand the allure of winning a bracelet, but if i can fold my way from 60k to 450k, and in the process deny myself any chance from winning a bracelet, i do it 100 times out of 100.

Yes, you would fold every hand if you knew that it would work out. Even if you calculate everything out with the blind structures and everything, you still don't know. You have no idea how the long the actual trny will last. Sure you can figure out how many chips you will have at each level but you have no idea how long the trny will last. Everyone keeps saying hell yah I would do that if I was guaranteed 450k but you will never be guaranteed anything except atleast 9th place money. Also, what if you pick up aces or kings, are you just going to muck those? There are so many variables that you are not thinking of here

My guess is this was his plan from the beginning. He figured he probably couldn't truly compete (I have no idea who the guy is) and thought the best bet was to just fold away and let everyone else attack each other, busting people in order to try to gain position. Only they forgot about the guy just sitting there.

Sure, this might be a decent strategy if you know before hand that

and you can assure yourself second. But much more often he'll fold up a couple places, maybe even 4th or 5th. But without playing some hands he's never getting to the real money (top 3).

After playing live all month, I can confirm that you can go 44 hands without seeing a picture card

I guess I remember stretches like that, but I haven't played live in a long time. It happens online too, but there had to be some spot that he could have used position or a resteal or something that would have increased his chances.

Finally someone that agrees with me, ty benza. I basically said most of the same things in my post above. He just is unable to figure out which position he can actually secure by folding every hand.
