Haven't watched much US soccer lately. How key was the guy that was sent off for the US? Does that leave a big hole for the next match or is the spot competitive and someone can slide in easily?

DeMerit is a better soccer player than Gooch, but he's lacking in the size and physicality department. If Mastroeni was coming back it'd be no big deal (of course, the fact that they're playing a team of T&T replacements makes it not a big deal anyway) but he's out one more game.

Cuba just went up 1-0 (23rd minute) on Mexico . . .

. . . this would be an alarming upset.

Gorgeous save by Odelin Molina . . .

. . . Mexico was just a finger away from an equalizer.

Mexican fan here, I thought Mexico played relatively poorly and should feel lucky to have won. The thing is I expected them to win even when they fell behind 1-0. I don't know if that's their overconfidence rubbing off on me or just me being a good team supporter.

The United States didn't play that well its first game but they never looked to be in trouble. They dominated today against T&T. They're a fun team to watch.

I might be getting a little ahead of myself, but I'm eagerly anticipating a USA-Mexico final.

Guadeloupe stuns Canadia 2-1. It's going to be a dogfight to see who gets out of group A as the standings are currently

Guadeloupe - 4
Canada - 3
Haiti - 2
Costa Rica - 1

Canada/Haiti and Costa Rica/Guadeloupe are the two games left. CR has really underperformed and they need to win. If Canada ties and CR wins there are going to be 3 4 point teams and I have no idea what the tie breaker is going to be.
