i don't think it's open to the public yet, but you could get in line at this turn-based play by web advance wars clone.

the games being played are visible to the public. graphics, maps, interface, etc look good to me.

Ultra Corps is a turn based space empire building/warring game that is currently free. It offers solo games, multi-player games (up to 6 players) and mega games that run occasionally (not since I signed up a week or so ago, though).

x-com appocalypse is an mythos games version of a never developed add-on for the original x-com games (in the usa). it is quite a bit different than x-com and it can be played over a network or internet i belive

I always have 5 "correspondance-type" games going at any one time.

I'm looking for similar type games for the PC. I have a Fujitsu Lifebook 7010D laptop- so it's no 3D gaming machine- but hopefully powerful enough for this type of game.

I've heard alot about Starcraft- but I think it's real-time and not turn-based? I really need a game where I can make a move- upload it and then check for my opponents move at the end of day. That's why Field Commander fits into my lifestyle so well.

All suggestions most appreciated.

As always, I recommend The Battle for Wesnoth , an open source fantasy TBS game that is really well balanced, has a lot of different user made campaigns and scenarios, as well as good online support.
