Re: Question for the OOT docs
[ QUOTE ]
Your physical withdrawal will be nothing much. Your psychological withdrawal will have you drinking mouthwash. [/ QUOTE ] Yup. I'm also going to assume (hopefully) that your friends also drink like you do. So, having them around isn't going to make things easier. Good luck, though. |

Re: Question for the OOT docs
[ QUOTE ]
You'll probably be fine, but it sure wouldn't hurt you to taper yourself off over a period of a few weeks rather than quitting cold turkey. [/ QUOTE ] This is what I have decided to do. After reading a little more about it, cold turkey can lead to bad binge drinking relapses. So I think what I will do is cut down to only a few nights a week and ONLY buy what I will allow myself to drink. That means buying a 6 pack and having no more alcohol at the house. I am very careful about driving after drinking, so that will hopefully prevent me from going out and getting more. Also, I will try to avoid bars, even though I usually don't drink too much at bars. I'm not trying to stop drinking altogether, I just want to get myself down to maybe two or three nights a week, and a 6 pack at most. |
