i think raising might be thin +ev if we fold to a 3bet but i am not strong enough to do that often yet so i just call.

I just noticed this. If you think it's strange to value bet on the end with Tx then you're probably missing a large number of value bets. The times to check are when you expect villain to bluff at you often, not value bet at you often. Most players check behind unless they have an ace, so by check-calling you put in money only when you're losing and never when you're winning.
