Huh? Party appears to be under attack by their own coders. It's the OTHER poker sites that I weep for.

Re: Party under attack by US government
I think a more appropriate title to this thread should be "Citizens under attack by US government."
Seriously though, up to five years in jail for playing a game of poker? This country is becoming absurd. Even if it doesn't pass, the fact that they wrote that into the bill shows how far our government has become disassociated from the people of the country. |

Re: Party under attack by US government
Ironic that the government-sanctioned powerball lottery and it's $365 million jackpot is plastered all over radio and tv these days. Guess gambling is ok with the US government as long as they make the profits and can charge a 50% rake.

Re: Party under attack by US government
I'm sure they would "survive," but if 88% of the players are from the U.S. and they cannot play, there would only be 9200 players on PP right now.

Why wouldn't US based poker sites pop up to fill the gap?

[ QUOTE ] Why wouldn't US based poker sites pop up to fill the gap? [/ QUOTE ] You're kidding, right? [/ QUOTE ] Isn't some senator in like indiana working to move paradise poker to indiana? Trying to pass legislation and the like? I thought there was a thread a couple days ago about this. TO a different poster, The US doesn't listen to the WTO. Our agenda is clear, we do what is best for us when it is best for us and the rest of the world will be caught up to speed later. More about US based gambling, If there is a block on overseas gambling, legislation will be passed and US based gambling will eventually open up. No? blake |
