you do realise this is a blind battle and that you checked the turn?

Yeah, I do. But he shoved instantly on the turn which lead me to believe I was beat often enough to fold. Because if he had AQ/KK I think he'd take a little bit more time.

Of course, I'm not so sure anymore now.

The only reason you'd check the turn is to induce him to shove so you can snap call. You did everything right except call...

Edit: Here's a similar hand in the blinds, except I had position here

Party Poker No-Limit Hold'em, $1 BB (5 handed) Hand History Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com (Format: 2+2 Forums)

Hero ($101.50)
UTG ($163.05)
MP ($38.40)
Button ($81.25)
SB ($123.50)

Preflop: Hero is BB with A[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], A[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img].
<font color="#666666">3 folds</font>, <font color="#CC3333">SB raises to $5</font>, <font color="#CC3333">Hero raises to $12.5</font>, SB calls $8.

Flop: ($26) 9[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], 5[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], Q[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] <font color="#0000FF">(2 players)</font>
SB checks, <font color="#CC3333">Hero bets $18</font>, SB calls $18.

Turn: ($62) 7[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] <font color="#0000FF">(2 players)</font>
SB checks, Hero calls $100.50 (All-In), SB calls $70.50.

River: ($233) 7[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] <font color="#0000FF">(2 players, 1 all-in)</font>

Final Pot: $233

Results in white below: <font color="#FFFFFF">
SB doesn't show.
Hero has Ac Ah (two pair, aces and sevens).
Outcome: Hero wins $203. SB wins $30. </font>

I think if you'd called here you'd see something similar.

Wow this is such a bad fold, sorry.

He has KK here so much. And you played your hand exactly like you have AK, but you have AA!

Seriously, how are you putting him solely on QQ?

Hand 1: 50.000% 46.15% 03.85% 264 22.00 { QQ+, TT }

You have 100bbs committed already and you're 50/50 against a pretty tight range. I can't call fast enough tbh ...
