Re: Dealer advises opponent. Whaddya do?
[ QUOTE ]
I wouldnt make a scene really. No need to make yourself look like a knob, but yeah. The floor has to hear about this quick smart. [/ QUOTE ] I don't think bringing this up right away would look like a knob at all. It's that bad a breach, I'm bringing it up right there. This is a basic rule that every dealer should know. I go to bat for dealers, but you can bet they'd be hearing about this one. b |

Re: Dealer advises opponent. Whaddya do?
I wait until the hand is over.
Calmly explain to the dealer what he did was very wrong, and if he does it again, I will get the shift manager. (too often the Floor would be 0 help). If the dealer gives me any grief back, I stop the game and demand the shift manager. |

Re: Dealer advises opponent. Whaddya do?
I think you have to say something right there and then, not wait.
Accuse the dealer of cheating/collusion...maybe stop just short of that? Definitely get the floor involved. This is a pretty big dealer no-no. |

Re: Dealer advises opponent. Whaddya do?
[ QUOTE ]
Finish the hand, sit the next hand out and have a little conversation with the floor. No need to create a scene in front of the table. [/ QUOTE ] there isnt? I would wait till the hand plays out and then YELL for the floor, while going off on the dealer. I would make sure at least this dealer would NEVER recieve another tip from me (I HAVE DEALT FOR 4 YEARS) and not to mention I would make sure that this dealer would recieve a writeup for this incident. I have a rule that wes beaten into my brain ever since I started dealing that is: GET in the box pitch the cards and shut your mouth, while sitll controlling and calling your game properly. I also agree with the poster who mentioned that this woult be grounds for firing IMO. |

Stay Calm!
Find out when the dealers shift ends. Meet him and take him out to a 5 star restaurant. Make sure he enjoys his last meal. |

I agree that this is a serious offense that is approaching grounds for firing, but what is the point of making a scene in front of other players? If anything, that's going to make management less likely to take action, not more; the floorman has a responsibility to protect his dealers in front of the customers no matter how big of a mistake has been made. This dealer needs to be re-educated if not replaced, and I certainly wouldn't tip him after that, but getting into a screaming bout on the casino floor is just counter-productive. Keep the game moving. |

Keep the game moving. [/ QUOTE ] I am not advociating to get in a SCREAMING match on the casino floor, but the floor needs to be notified ASAP. While I understand that the floor has a responsibiltiy to his dealers to protect them, THE FLOOR ALSO HAS A RESPOSNSIBILITY TO THE GAME AND IT'S PLAYERS!!!!!, to see that the game is run correctly and FAIR! Any dealer that cannot fully doso should be instantly removed from the game, followed br either reducation or firing. Think about if this was a rake issue, and the dealer couldnt properly take the rake, while the floor man just noticed the dealer missing the proper rake 5 times in a row, dont you think that dealer would be pushed on like the next hand and the reduciated on how to pull the rake, and if he couldnt get it then he wold be fired. |
