I believe I was a freshmen in highschool at the time as well (maybe sophomore). To be honest I was pretty mundane about the entire thing. My mother and I had already been through quite a bit (she was an alcoholic for a very long time) and we were very close. I was happy that should could finally live her life how she new she should.
