hero folds. I think he most likely has you beat, he knows he has been making lots of moves on you so i think he is making this shove for a reason most of the time.

I think this is very important if you have a (small/short) history with villain. Most people seem to neglect this. I make the same mistake some times.

After reading The Well: True the other day, I've begun to realize that when moving up to 2/4nl I've got to start incorporating the river value overshove, and the river bluff overshove. Those are two moves that I don't use and don't really see quite often in 1/2nl. I guess this was an expensive introduction for me.

He played it well apart from preflop, right ?

yeah. his preflop call is awful seeing how hes only 50 bbs deep

Villain was the SB (200bb) not the CO.

Terrible call PF. FWIW, I make it 54 to go PF (pot sized raise).

I actually loved the way you played the hand.

Villains river push is very interesting. He put you on a big hand given you PF and Flop actions. The push is genius because of the previous action between the two of you.

He probably thinks you will read the push as weaknesses, trying to bully you off the best hand. From his point of view, a value bet could look really scary, and he could loose a lot of value checking this river when you check behind. Pushing represents the widest range of hands, and offers him the most value from a second best hand.

I have to become more articulate when expressing my thoughts...lol..

lol, I'm glad that you loved the way I played.... probably only up till my river call though. I got thoroughly outplayed by this villain on the river, and got pwned in this hand. I wonder if the villain is a 2p2 because he was giving me fits on multiple tables.

without reading the other replies, i am folding this most of the time. seems pretty rare that this kind of huge bet seemingly out of nowhere is pure air, and thats about the only thing you're beating right now.

if he had something like 10-10 or j-j or weaker ace he probably would throw out a value bet, not something huge like that
