Re: QQ in a large pot -- drawy flop
What's my line if I flat-call the flop instead of raising?
a. If SB just calls and b. If SB raises and BB 3-bangs With the big questions being - how many cards can come that actually increase my equity in the hand? And, how likely is it that I can protect my hand on the turn anyway, given my relative position? -d |

Re: QQ in a large pot -- drawy flop
I would have probably just flat called the flop and folded for 2 more bets when it came back around. What are you beating right now? If you're only facing a 2-pair hand like 87 your still a pretty big dog. But with this action you're probably facing JT and someone on a pair/flush draw combo. If that is the case you need runner runner to boat up to win.
Fold them queens and pick a better spot. |

Re: QQ in a large pot -- drawy flop
Folding big pairs with flops like this is not a weak play at all. It's saving you $. The worst is when you have waited for a long time to play a hand, pick up QQ, Raise PF, get a erally coordinated flop and have to let it go. It sucks but it is solid play. I used to lose a lot of chips this way.

Yeah, I call the flop the first time around and fold the 2nd.

[ QUOTE ]
Ok, for startes, you can't fold. You are getting 29-1. You can peel, and hope to catch a Q,J, or T on the turn. Then you can reevaluate based on the turn action. If Its one bet at that point, you have an easy call, and you might be on your way to the biggest suckout of the night. [/ QUOTE ] I fully understand where you're coming from but I'm not sure that the pot odds are even enough to call and hope for a card that will probably still be behind when you catch. |

Re: QQ in a large pot -- drawy flop
Results - I'm too good at poker to make money. I fold, my hand was good at the time and after the Q turn and the 8 river.
