I raise and limp TT from this position about 50/50. Either play is fine depending on what your feel for the table is. I like how you played it post flop but I would certainly fold to the river bet. You're ahead of very few hands.

What about another smallish, half-pot bet on the turn? I mean, it's a $16, many times a bet on the turn takes it down and at the least gets us free showdown on the river? I agree definite fold on river as played, though.
Also, FWIW, i like the limp pf and don't necessarily play this hand just for set value, either... |

You played it fine. Raising and limping pf are ok. As played I almost always fold the river. [/ QUOTE ] yeah I like this. As far as preflop action, one factor that dictates whether or not I raise is how aggressive I have been so far in the tourney. If I havent made a PF raise yet, I almost always raise now. I'd say overall I raise this about 70% of the time. |

Raising TT here is not +$EV. [/ QUOTE ] ???????? im open to other points of view but if your gonna tell me its -EV to raise w/ 10's then give me some type of logic behind your statement. hell why dont we just limp eveery hand w/ any two and just hope to hit a good flop. |

[/ QUOTE ] This doesn't make sense. Raising TT is undoubtedly +EV. The question is whether limping is more so. |

Raising TT is going to be +cEV but breakevan $EV in the early levels most of the time. I find I get more value out of the hand by flopping an overpair and getting chips off TPTK. I'm also going to lose too many chips when my cont bet gets played back at if i raise.

Can you explain why?

This is confusing.
Raising TT is EV+, no matter what, limping is fine if made with a certain strategy, with a certain table and certain particular situations. The reason why you raise TT is absolutely the opposite of what you are saying, ie avoiding super marginal hand to call. Also you want to play the hand in position, limping will help toooo many players acting after you. I raise here 100%. |
