I also think that pot bets/overbets on the river are desperate bluff attempts in most cases vs non-thinking players.

They are trying to rob you blind, so they pick a suitable weapon, a weapon that scares the [censored] out of most players, the overbet allin. I don't think anyone likes being faced with an 70bb overbet into a 30bb pot with top pair top kicker, it would be horrible. I'd try this overbet nuts/air thing if I thought I could pull it off, but I'd split my head open for being such a f**king idiot when I get it wrong.
