they ran a 200NL when i was there (last summer) and 4/8 and 3/6. The 3/6 game has 1/2 blinds and was LOOSE. 7-9 players to the flop on average unless UTG raises, and then it's still 5-6.

I live here - about the only places in town worth playing are the Peppermill and the El Dorado (downtown) - but I don't care for either casino, so I pretty much save my b&m for Las Vegas or SoCal - what used to be the Hilton is now the Grand Sierra. When it was the Hilton, they had good side game action during the tournaments in the fall and spring - but I'm not convinced this is going to be true now - the next tourney is during March Madness, so I'll check it out then....

I live here and very rarely play at the Atlantis. A few of my out on town friends like to play the NL 1/2 cash games. As far as I am concerned it is there for entertainment ONLY.

If you want to play decent poker you have to go to the Peppermill or Grand Sierra (Hilton) during the WPT. By the way the Peppermill winter tournaments start this weekend 2/23 and there will be plenty of action.

I plan on making the drive Monday from Sacramento, but they are calling for snow. How many people do you think they will get for the Tuesday Horseament?

The day I was there, there was only a 3/6 game going. I mostly played at the Eldorado but sometimes they couldn't even keep a 4/8 going. There was always 3/6 and $1/2 nl. I did get to play omaha8 and stud there, neither of which is spread at my local casino. Someone told me there is sometimes a higher limit game at the Peppermill on the weekend.

IMHO, the Atlantis is the best run poker room in Reno. The Peppermill has more tables (12 compared to Atlantis' 6) and better game selection, but I prefer the atomosphere and the people at the Atlantis. I play the 1/2 NL game frequently and have been very successful.

In regard to the tournaments, because the blinds double every 15 minutes, it is primarily a crap shoot. If there is collusion going on, I would be very surprised. I don't think that they have enough repeat players.
