True - may be worth going to PT forum and switch to MYSQL Database, think they're faster.

Couldbe hassle though

The quality of your HDD is much more important as far as Databases are concerned.

You want tons of cache (16mb), SATA 3Gb at least. If you're really technical, get yourself a 15,000 RPM SCSI drive (requires SCSI controller).

That's a Western Digital 250GB I believe. It's probably 16Mb cache if it's newer. I could google it, but meh.

Check out what I sent you, it will help a lot... just make sure you back up your DB beforehand.

just buy a new computer everytime PT starts running slow

PT is really showing its age. There was a thread in the software forum about it, and I suspect that others are working on a more modern piece of software.

Are you using a postgres SQL database? I find that it is faster than the access DB. I also compact it every day and do a full compact every week.
