OP was on the phone to his friend telling him what to do, it was a team effort...
thats why half the winnings (less the buyin) seems fair in my mind (and he got a free sng lesson as others have mentioned).

This thread happened before, it's a beer as simple as that. Here is the perfect example of why you shouldn't compensate.

A couple weekends ago Eagles was deep in an FTP multi his fire alarm went off, I took over for him doubled when he got AA AIPF. I didn't ask for anything.

Fast forward to this weekend I need to get food delivered to me, when I go down to the lobby to get food Eagles takes over for me, I'm talking to him on the phone I'm ITM he reshoves AT into 33 I double. I didn't give him anything. You are doing a favour for friend because he would do it for you that's why you shouldn't compensate him half or whatever.
