Haha, this is the first thing I thought of when I read this thread.

I can just see a table of 2p2'ers sitting nearby harassing his date.

In situations like these it always helps me to think about how incredibly nervous the other person is. Its like when you are in a car or left alone in a room with someone youve never met before and there is that intense desire to say something and the silence is really akward. Once I realized the other person feels the EXACT same way, it really kinda empowered me. Now instead of feeling nervous or akward I sit there thinking "heh, this poor bastard is desperatly wishing he had something to say or that so and so would hurry up and get back so we arent alone". It takes away all those feelings for me and lets me act how I normally would. Maybe Im weird but this works really well for me in a variety of social situations.

thanks ass. i just LOL'd at work and got some looks from my coworkers.

that said. i think the half hug half kiss on the cheek is incredibly standard for this. also, how old are you? if you're between 24-28 i just can't see someone your age doing this...but maybe i'm narrowminded.

Haha, I remember my first internet date, I gave the girl the ass out hug when we parted ways. I got back in my car, and as I was about to pull out, she was coming up to my car so I stopped. She said she thinks she left her car keys in my car, so I tore up the car looking for them. I didn't find them, so I looked more when I got home. I later found out that she really didn't forget her keys, and she pretended to because she wanted a goodbye kiss, (which she still didn't get that night cause I wimped out originally).
