European, got 2236. I agree about us having trouble with North America, though I also think capitals are more important to know than state capitals.

American, 2923. Got almost everyone between 30-150, except for Moscow and Kiev. Put Moscow way too far north (600 km or so), and off another 400 for Kiev. Knew it was somewhere on the Dnieper, didn't know where.

The fact that you know there is a river called the Dnieper, and Kiev is located on it, probably puts you ahead of 99% of Americans.

Not to defend American ignorance ...

[ QUOTE ]
If one made a similiar map of the US, Canada, and Mexico and Europeans were asked to pinpoint major cities and state/province capitols and stuff, I doubt they'd all do it brillantly. Ignorant and stupid people infest the whole world.

[/ QUOTE ]Europeans, generally, know more about the rest of the world than Americans, generally, know about the rest of the world.

Take a look at European and American newspapers and TV, to see.

American - just over 10,000 km

I couldn't do much better at state capitals either. I've never considered this sort of geography important; it's what books are for.

Even so, I'm very impressed by anyone below 3,000 km.

American

1st attempt: ~13,000km, mostly because of like 4 cities that I had never even heard of, like Wien and Ankara.
2nd attempt: ~8,000km
3rd attempt: ~4,000km
4th Attempt: ~3,000km

I doubt I could get much better than that.

Interesting game

PS. On both my first two attempts I mis-clicked on France for Madrid.

American. I also mis-clicked on France for Madrid. I felt like an idiot when Paris was the next one. 8700 score.

American, 10841 and I really didn't try too hard. I took about a second or two on each and fired. Missed Athens by 28, Kiev by 1762 (fired in the middle of Russia somewhere), and Oslo by 1031 (I forgot which was Finland and which was Norway).

I'd love a North American version of this game to show how dumb the title of this thread is.
