Re: does anyone have a pet snake?
Temperature control is a big thing too. Depending on animal, can be a huge thing.

Re: does anyone have a pet snake?
Really? They always seemed so astonishingly clean to me, in comparison to mammals, which always smell.

Re: does anyone have a pet snake?
Snakes smell terrible, otherwise I'd have a boa.

Re: does anyone have a pet snake?
I had some ribbon snakes which were the coolest things around. Everyone thinks that is all about boas that you can wrap around your arm and watch eat rats, but ribbon snakes are where its at.
I had a huger terrarium with two ribbon snakes in it. To feed them you put a huge fishbowl in the middle of the cage, complete with goldfish swimming around in the bowl. The snakes climb to the top of the bowl and dart into the water, swimming around, until they get a hold of the goldfish. They then whip it out of the bowl, so its flopping around on the ground. They then eat it whole. It's awesome because you got goldfish swimming around for a few days and then you get to watch the snakes swim fast at hell around and get them. Also, they have no teeth so you don't ever have to worry about getting bit. And if you want you can toss em some frogs too. |
