It's the curse of the Manning draft day trade.

Andy Reid and Coughlin seem like two of the worst coaches in the NFL. They take great talent and fail to develop it and create a core that works together and wins game.

WTF? Four straight division titles, four straight NFCCG and a trip to the Super Bowl isn't "winning games?"

It's hardly Reid's fault that McNabb is always hurt.

The Giants are frustrating, but most frustrating team in SPORTS HISTORY?! Obviously not. Not even close.

Uh, 2005 Chargers anyone?

We lost 4 games that we lead in the 4th quarter and most of our losses were by 4 points or less. We underperformed our pythagorean W-L by about 2 wins IIRC.

How about the Colts over the last couple of years?

All the great success in the regular season and they choke in the playoffs.

Part of he reason for this thread was to get anecdotes from other posters, something along the lines of "You think that's bad? You should have been around to see the '87 Browns... randomly dropping the ball after an interception, giving your opponent a fresh set of downs, thne pass interfering in the end zone would have been welcomed back then" or something like that

Most frustrating team in my 20 years rooting for NY sports has to be the Knicks teams in the 1990s. Charles Smith layups, missed fingerrolls, Reggie Miller going WWF on Charlie Ward, John Starks streakiness, continually trading for second scorers and point guards who disappoint, and just when you think it's your year, the whole team gets suspended for the last two games of a winnable series for just standing up in the middle of a fight.

And at least as a Knicks fan I had championship teams in the other 3 sports. I'm sure other cities' fans had it worse.

I remember the Vikings and Niners games, and those were far more heartbreaking, but this team does it (or has it done to them) every single time they lose. I never come out of a loss satisfied, saying "we should have lost they game, they were the better team" like I did with the Fassal teams. The Fassal teams never had even close to the amount of injuries, although they were undisciplined (Coughlin was supposed to fix that), they just weren't even close to the talent level of the current Giants team.

[/ QUOTE ]

Huh? Fassel teams were notorious for pwning statistically and giving away games via penalties/turnovers/special teams. They were also gutted by injuries to the point where Coughlin went on WFAN after he was hired and said: "injuries aren't all luck ya know - a lot if it is conditioning" - Mike & Dogg (rightfully) gave him a hard time for that.

I felt bad for them until they lost to Miami at home despite some bad calls going in their favor.
